Accessibility Standards for Customer Service at Stillpoint Myofascial Release

We commit to providing accessible goods, services, or facilities

Stillpoint Myofascial Release is committed to The Accessibility for Manitobans Act and its accessibility standards.

  • Stillpoint Myofascial Release is committed to complying with The Accessibility Customer Service Standard under The Accessibility for Manitobans Act.
  • Stillpoint Myofascial Release is committed to excellence in serving all customers including people with disabilities.

Our accessible customer service policies are consistent with the principles of independence, dignity, and equality of opportunity for people with disabilities.

Any policies of Stillpoint Myofascial Release that do not respect and promote the principles of dignity, independence, integration, and equal opportunity for people with disabilities will be modified or removed.

1. Communication

  • Stillpoint Myofascial Release will communicate with people disabled by barriers in ways that consider the nature of the barrier. This may include the following:
    • asking the client is the best way to accommodate their needs and following through
      with their suggestions
    • one on one health history form completion upon request
    • easy to read fonts and plain language
    • paper and pen available at reception
    • all of our marketing and publications will include notice: “This publication is available in alternate formats upon request.”
  • Stillpoint Myofascial Release will work with the person to determine the barrier and
    what method of communication works for them.

2. Assistive devices

  • People with disabilities may use their personal assistive devices when accessing our goods, services, or facilities.
  • In cases where the assistive device presents significant and unavoidable health or safety concerns, other measures will be used to ensure the person with a disability can access our goods, services, or facilities.
  • If working in a two storey walk up, and the client uses crutches or a wheelchair, it would be appropriate to offer mobile massage services, if they are available.

3. Support persons

  • A person with a disability is welcomed to be accompanied by a support person.
  • Fee/fare will not be charged for support persons.
  • Stillpoint Myofascial Release will notify customers of this by posting a notice in the following location(s): Stillpoint Myofascial Release Web-site

4. Service Animals

Stillpoint Myofascial Release welcomes people with disabilities and their service animals. Service animals are allowed on the parts of our premises that are open to the pubic.

5. Maintain Barrier-Free Access

  • will maintain barrier-free access by:
    • keeping hallways and waiting meeting rooms clear of clutter such as boxes
    • keeping entrance ways cleared of snow and ice
    • having space for mobility device devise in waiting room

6. Notice of temporary disruption

  • In the event of a planned or unexpected disruption of services or facilities for customers disabled by barriers, Stillpoint Myofascial Release will promptly post notices and, when possible, announce the disruption. A clearly posted notice or announcement will
    include Information about the reason for the disruption, its anticipated length of time, and a description of alternative facilities or services, if available.

    • accessible public parking

7. Feedback Process

  • Stillpoint Myofascial Release welcomes feedback on how we provide accessible customer service. Customer feedback will help us identify barriers and respond to concerns.
  • Customers will be notified how to provide feedback in the following ways:
    • email
    • phone
  • All feedback, including complaints, will be handled in the following manner:
    • Customers can expect to hear back within one day.
    • We will make sure our feedback process is accessible to people with disabilities by
      providing accessible formats and communication supports, on request.
